We’re a multi-award-winning fish and chip shop with a love for the classics — the kind of food that takes you back to the best days of your childhood. Back to long summer holidays when it felt as though the sun would never set, days at the beach whatever the weather, and simple, comforting food cooked with care. At Cromars, we believe some memories are best served wrapped in paper. That first bite of perfectly cooked fish. The golden crunch of fresh chips. A generous splash of salt and vinegar. What brings our customers coming back to us year after year? Well, there’s the banter (obviously), but friendly customer service only gets you so far. We take care and dedication over every single fish supper we prepare and cook. Our fish is brought fresh to us by our fishmonger and our chips are delivered each day from our potato man. We also prepare our homemade tartare sauce and mushy peas fresh every morning. We believe you could only get a fresher meal by catching the fish yourself! Our haddock is ‘angel cut’, meaning every order includes one 8oz whole fillet of fish. Freshly cooked to order and served with perfectly cooked chips, it’s authentic fish and chips at its finest.

Cromars is run by Wendy, whose warmth, kindness, and generosity are matched only by her fierce commitment to quality. At Cromars, only the very best will do. We’re no ordinary chippy. We’re a proper Scottish chippy, proudly voted “the best in the business in Scotland” twice! Here you’ll find world-class fish caught from the sea on our doorstep, alongside chips delivered from just down the road — all cooked with care and served with a warm welcome.

Born and raised in Peterhead, the UK’s largest fishing port, she has a lifelong connection to the fishing industry and a real passion for serving the very best fish and chips.
