Cromars Awarded Best Fish Supper at the 2023 Scottish Fish & Chip Awards

We’re proud to announce that Cromars Classic Fish and Chips has been named the “best fish supper in Scotland” at the inaugural 2023 Scottish Fish & Chip Awards, an award picked up at the gala ceremony in Glasgow on Monday, 13th November, at the DoubleTree Hilton in Glasgow.

Cromars of St Andrews was one of 24 winners on the night, with finalists from across Scotland competing for a variety of titles. The annual awards are run by Paramount Creative with twenty-four categories, with nominees amassing over 70,000 votes – Cromars proved their worth in salt, taking the top prize, “Best Fish Supper”, on the night.

The Fish & Chip Award Nomination Process

On Monday, 25th September, Cromars received the news that we were finalists for Best Fish Supper at the 2023 Scottish Fish & Chip Awards. The announcement was made on social media, receiving great support from our loyal customers far and wide.

The judging process for the awards is thorough, with judges travelling across the country to visit the nominated fish and chip shops unannounced to determine the winners of each category. The judges rate the chip shops on a wide variety of criteria, including food quality, customer service, shop appearance and community involvement.

The 2023 Scottish Fish & Chip Awards Gala

Wendy and Shannon attended the awards gala, where it was announced that Cromars had been crowned Best Fish Supper against some serious competition.

When asked about the awards gala, Wendy said: “The gala night was full of excitement from every person in the room. We all share the same passion, and that passion is to deliver high-quality fish and chips and make our customers happy. The competition was tough – we’re delighted to have been crowned Best Fish Supper.”
