Eden Mill (opening summer 2024)
Eden Mill is based right here in St Andrews. This single-site distillery and brewery has been producing beer since 2012, followed by whisky and gin since 2014. Although currently closed to the public, the company is building a brand new distillery and visitor centre, due to open in the summer of 2024. The state-of-the-art facility with views over the St Andrews skyline is set to be a major new attraction. The visitor centre will offer a whisky experience and a gin experience. We can’t wait!
Kingsbarns Distillery
Around a 15-minute drive from St Andrews, Kingsbarns Distillery was founded in 2014. The distillery is located in a converted building and offers and range of whisky and gin tours. Whisky tours include a guided tour of the distillery and a tasting in one of the dedicated tasting rooms. Drivers can take their samples away to enjoy later. There is also an exhibition area, shop and cafe.
Lindores Abbey Distillery
Lindores Abbey Distillery is located in Newburgh, around a half-hour drive from St Andrews. Founded in 2017, the distillery takes its name from the ancient abbey just across the road. It was, in fact, a Lindores monk that distilled the first recorded whisky (or “aqua vitae”) in 1494. Learn about the Scotch whisky production process on a guided tour and sample two drams for yourself. Takeaway drams are available for designated drivers. They also offer workshops and dining experiences.
